Born in 1967 in Tours (France). Franck Bouroullec meets in 2003 the comic Jamel Debbouze who gives him the opportunity to perfom in front of the public, the paints the print of his portrait, upside down.
Today, his reputation goes far beyond France. Requested on every continents, he performs portraits of the most known people.
For the first time, Franck Bouroullec opens the doors of his secret garden.
“What interests me is a face, a charisma, a glance. In fact this personality brings me towards the others. I am a man of communication.
The atelier allows a different definition of the works. I analyze my line, this gesture initially interior which takes me to the end of the brush.
This precise gesture, given, just at one moment, like a gift.
Since long challenged by the material, following my meeting with the Torrent brothers, Swiss glassmakers who understood my interest for the new supports.
I arrived as a questionner.The random aspect? How inks work between them ?
Expressing and creating graphically what I was doing on canvas, around glass and its components.
Namely the pigments, translucent inks, coloured resins and some precious substances (platinum, gold, money, bronze). November 2009, Franck Bouroullec’s paintings are presented by the fine art gallery Clement in Vevey, city situated along the Swiss Riviera, not far from Montreux
